What we offer

Our Ethos

We provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment, where every child can grow as an individual and shine like the stars they are.

We cater for children aged 2.5 – 4 years and offer up to 30 hours per week under the Early Years Entitlement.

Although children can start at Rush Common Preschool when they are 2.5 years old, priority for places will be given to children age 3 plus and for the year before they start school.

We accept most childcare voucher schemes and are set up for tax-free childcare.

Our aims

  • Provide high quality care and education for children between 2.5 and 4 years of age.

  • Work in partnership with parents to help their children learn and develop.

  • Provide a stimulating and fun environment where children feel safe and secure.

  • Make a positive contribution to the economic and social well-being of our local community.

  • Offer children and their parents a service which provides equality and values diversity.

  • Allow children and their parents to experience a very positive transition into school life.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which is the statutory framework that sets standards for Early Years providers to follow. The framework aims to ensure that children develop the knowledge and skills required as a foundation to progress through school life.

The EYFS framework places an emphasis on three prime areas which are most essential for children’s healthy development:

  • Communication and Language

  • Physical Development; and

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

The focus is to ensure that children of Pre-school age have fun in a stimulating environment. Our team draws up a plan for each term focussed around a topic which aims to ensure that the EYFS goals are met in a way that the children will enjoy. We believe that the experience a child has at Pre-School is very important in a child’s journey through the education system and so it is our goal to make learning fun!

Safeguarding and Policies

Safeguarding is the action we take at preschool to ensure children's safety, welfare and protection from harm.

Safeguarding children and child protection guidance and legislation applies to all children up to the age of 18.

All staff at Rushcommon preschool have relevant safeguarding training and we have two designated safeguarding leads who carry out further extensive training.

At Rushcommon preschool we ensure the following:

-We build a culture of safety in which all children are protected from abuse and harm in all areas.

-We respond quickly and appropriately to all incidents, allegations or concerns of abuse.

-All staff training is current and up to date.

-We empower the children in our care to be strong, resilient and listened to.

Please speak to the Manager to view any of our policies in the setting.
